Reaching back to avant-jazz, Drive Like Jehu and King Crimson, The Paper Chase is, at its heart, a radical demolition of rock structure and form. Fronted by the anomalous John Congleton, the Denton, TX based trio brings a new level of skill and intelligence to punk and indie-rock. These are songs born of a different vision where melody and rhythm are not the foundation of songs, but mere elements.
