Fat Joe has been bringing it more and more with each release. You might think Loyalty was rushed, but one listen will prove otherwise.
Bringing It:
“Born In The Ghetto” – Should become the definitive Fat Joe track.
“Prove Something” – The sample of “Wildflower” brings on an almost Rocky anthem and Fat Joe takes it down with a KO.
“We Run This Shit” – Another knock in the teeth.
“Crush Tonight” – Ginuwine brings the hook and Fat Joe brings the verses.
“Bust At You” – The hook is hot and with the addition of Scarface it doesn’t go wrong.
“Turn Me On” – A sexy radio single.
Winging It:
“All I Need” – Sexy, but Tony Sunshine isn’t up to the level of Ginuwine.
“It’s Nothing” – Not a lot of depth, but damn if this doesn’t make you want to get off your ass and go.
“Take A Look At My Life” – Everything is good, except the hook.
Missing It:
“TS Piece” – This is just a track to allow an upcoming member of Fat Joe’s label, Tony Sunshine, to shine. It doesn’t work.
Fat Joe is evolving and in his evolution he’s showing himself to be a damn good rapper. Loyalty is by far his best effort to date.
