Invertigo landed themselves on Australia’s top 40 and have now decided to try invading our lands.
Looking at Invertigo, you’d think they were a good rock band, but what comes out instead sounds like a mix between Savage Garden and Rick Springfield. And depending on what side of the fence you are on, that can be good or oh-so-bad.
“Desensitized” is brilliantly bright and happy-go-lucky even though it just might lower your IQ a few notches with mind-numbing content. The further you go into the album, track by track there seems to be a running theme of plainly high-energy pop tracks. But these are pop rock tracks of the highest order of lameness. “Man Enough” is at the peak of this pathetic excuse for cheesy.
I just hope Invertigo doesn’t bring back a trend toward groups like Journey and Asia. God forbid that music should slip even further back than it has already. Invertigo must be fought. These guys could seriously set music back fifteen years. Avoid these intoxicating pop sirens at all costs.
