GAME DESCRIPTION: Experience the most famous air combat of WWII’s Pacific theater. Heroes of the Pacific begins December 7, 1941, with the attack on Pearl Harbor and allows players to live the most memorable battles of the Pacific campaign, including locations such as Wake Island, Midway, and the Coral Sea. Players will experience realistic and historically accurate planes and environments along with an epic scope of battle. Both arcade- and professional-style controls and a variety of game modes allow the player to live the greatest air battles of history.
Game Features:
* Fight the Pacific’s most epic and action-packed air battles: Including Pearl Harbor, Wake Island, Midway, and the Coral Sea, the campaign covers the entire course of the war in the Pacific with up to 150 planes on-screen at the same time.
* Multiplayer action with up to 8 players online: Engage in head-to-head dogfights or cooperative team play.
* Six different game modes: Including Campaign, Instant Action, Single-Mission, Historical, Training, and Multiplayer.
* Compelling and dramatic wartime storyline: Covers the entire Pacific campaign and features missions based on true events and accurate historical footage.
* Command a total of 36 authentic-looking and fun to fly WWII aircraft: Including all major U.S. and Japanese models with bonus planes from the U.K., Germany, and the USSR.
PLAY: The planes are small just as they were of that era and thankfully they are very easy to maneuver. Most of the actual flying is fun. Dropping torpedoes and bombs aren’t always the most thrilling because it seems very elementary but you will love the dogfights..
There are campaigns you can enter and move forward to historical points in the war. You can also play friends and battle it out head-to-head. You have to defend your carrier as they attempt to sink it to the bottom of the sea.
GRAPHICS: The planes are good. Because you spend most of your time in the air all you see are planes and clouds. The environments from the water to the smoke effects add a great element of realism.
SOUND: Most of the sounds you hear are from your plane including the purr of the motor and gun fire. If you hear too much enemy fire you are trouble. There is voice acting that doesn’t add much appeal to the overall aesthetic.
FRANKLY: The campaigns are good if not too short. There is a lot of excitement for anyone that loves World War II and can’t get enough of being thrown into those battles.
