The Exorcist

The Exorcist
Cast: Linda Blair
Studio: Warner Bros.
Rating: 9.5/10

The only movie that ever scared the living hell out of me was The Exorcist. And you know what? It scared the living hell out of me again! And as scared as I was, I still couldn’t take my eyes off the screen.

I have a feeling that these days the Catholic Church won’t be as against the re-release as they were the original. Heck, The Exorcist spawned a whole phenomenon and probably found people rushing to church the Sunday after seeing it. It single-handedly set forwarded a silly resurgence of demons entering the bodies of humans. The church can be assured of all sorts of new business once again. Yeah God! Or maybe we should just thank William Peter Blatty, the original screenwriter for these scenes of terror.

Now there is the re-release with scenes never seen before and updated sound, but all of that stuff really didn’t matter. The true horror still shines through. I have to admit however that the new scene with the super spew and that unbelievably scary stair crawl is worth the price of readmission. Just make sure you leave the skittish home because even the most macho of people can’t deny the days of nightmares sure to come.
