Oklahoma’s hard rock quartet, Crooked X will play on the second stage at Disturbed’s Music As A Weapon IV Tour-a music, tattoo, and lifestyle festival-presented by Samsung Mobile and powered by Sprint. Crooked X will rock The Ernie Ball Second Stage, which will be officially sponsored by multi-city battle of the bands organization Headbang For the Highway www.myspace.com/headbangforthehighway , a 38-city, nine-week trek, which kicks off March 20th in Madison, WI. “I would go to this show even if we weren’t playing. These are some of our favorite bands. What a great opportunity,” says Jesse Cooper, lead guitarist. “I’m so stoked to go on the Music As A Weapon Tour. I’m excited to see Killswitch Engage and Suicide Silence. It’s gonna be an experience for sure,” adds Forrest French, lead vocals.

For the last three years CX have been banging out their blend of kick-ass rock inspired by greats such as Metallica, AC/DC, Pantera and Led Zeppelin. They’ve opened for the likes of KISS as well as classic rock legends Ted Nugent and Alice Cooper. Recently, the15-year-old shredders appeared on their own mini MTV rockumentary, “Rock N Roll Dream,” which documented their real-life Cinderella story about four young boys catapulting from a Coweta, OK (population 7,000) garage band to opening for KISS in front of 35,000 screaming fans in Stockholm, Sweden. These events led to CX signing with EMI via McGhee Proffer Media (MPM) in August of 2008, all this within the span of nine months.

Their self-titled 10-song debut for EMI (in stores now), was helmed by hit producers Spencer Proffer (Tina Turner, Quiet Riot, WASP) and Michael Wagener (Metallica, Ozzy, Poison). Standout tracks on the new album include “Gone,” “Time Is Now,” “You Gotta Bleed,” and “Adrenaline.” The track “Nightmare,” was featured in the successful Rock Band video game while “Gone” and “Rock N Roll Dream” are available as downloadable content for the game. It doesn’t stop there. The success of their debut landed them their first national late night TV appearance on ABC’s JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, where they showcased new single “Gone” in addition to fan favorite “Rock N Roll Dream.”

CX is comprised of Forrest French (vocals, guitar), Jesse Cooper (lead guitar, vocals), Josh McDowell (bass) and Boomer Simpson (drums), who began playing in fifth grade. They cut their teeth in the Tulsa area, playing Cain’s Ballroom and at Coweta Junior High talent shows. The ambitious and mega-talented rockers sent a tape to a CBS Early Morning Show nationally televised competition and landed in an impressive second place.
