Kasabian to release new album “The West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum”

UK powerhouse Kasabian are primed to release their third record The West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum on June 9th, 2009 in the United States on RCA Records. Produced by Serge Pizzorno and Dan the Automater (Gorillaz, DJ Shadow), it is a follow up to their second album Empire which debuted at #1 on the UK charts was rewarded 9 of out 10 stars by the NME.

Kasabian will be giving fans a sneak peek of their new record by releasing ‘Vlad The Impaler’ – as a free download. The track will be available beginning at 3:30pm on March 31st until 8pm EST, April 3rd ONLY at www.kasabian.co.uk.

‘Vlad The Impaler’, written by Serge Pizzorno and produced by Serge and Dan the Automator, is a turbo-charged rock anthem; a full on rant from start to finish sped along by Tom Meighan’s searing vocal. “Vlad is a total chaos tune,” enthuses Serge. “It’s a call out to all our people, the ones who are tuned into our radio station.”

The trailer for the single, which makes its debut on www.kasabian.co.uk from 7.30pm, March 31st will then be available on YouTube, April 1st. It features Noel Fielding (Mighty Boosh) who plays Vlad – a dark, bushy moustached, big eye-browed character who causes the most unimaginable havoc in every given situation.

Kasabian – Serge Pizzorno (Songwriter, Guitar, Vocals), Tom Meighan (Vocals), Chris Edwards (Bass) and Ian Matthews (Drums) play a Teenage Cancer Trust headline show at the Royal Albert Hall, March 27th, preceding this are 3 warm-up gigs in Margate, Preston and Leeds, which sold out in minutes.
