Miranda Lambert Delivers “Dead Flowers”

One thing is certain when it comes to country star Miranda Lambert, it’s not just her looks that turns heads or makes headlines – although People Magazine did include her in their 100 Most Beautiful list.

Since the live debut at the ACM Awards fans and critics have taken notice of her new single on Columbia Nashville – “Dead Flowers.” The bombshell delivered what was touted by many as the night’s best performance.

“There’s a sense that the song is always on the verge of exploding — and Lambert is one of the fiercest singers in any genre, “ noted the Los Angeles Times.

Slant Magazine says, “Dead Flowers’ makes it clear that Lambert is more interested in forging her own artistic path than in bending to ill-fitting trends…”

This single off her highly anticipated third album (due out September) will hit radio on May 4 and retailers May 12. Miranda wrote the song based on a real life scenario. She’d received a bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s Day but soon after the holiday, had to hit the road for a string of shows. In her absence the flowers suffered from lack of attention and upon her return she tossed them in the back yard. That image translated to the powerful and prolific lyrics of “Dead Flowers.” The song has worked its way into her live set and Miranda’s thrilled to be sharing it with audiences across the country as she continues on as Special Guest to Kenny Chesney’s Sun City Carnival tour.

And in typical fashion Lambert has also turned heads on and off the stage and made some interesting headlines this week. At the Stagecoach
