Hey, Cantrell show some respect and class have the professionalism, and courtesy to change the bands name. After all, Alice in Chains of the name Layne T. Staley gave the band, not you. Staley was the “Voice” and the “Face” of AIC. Sorry, to burst your bubble their buddy.

If James from Metallica died would Metallica find a new singer and continue to call it “METALLICA”? I thing NOT!!!

I can not stand everyone ripping on Jerry for his bands choice. Its not your choice, did you play in a band with Layne for ten years? Jerry has and I think he knows what Layne would have wanted more than you. Laynes mom gave them the blessing they dont need your selfish opinion. I could not picture this line up with anyother name. This album will be the best thing to happen to rock music in years. Jerry is not your buddy he may not have been the face of the band but he was the soul of it and he will do there legacy justice. Just because you liked Layne’s music does not mean you knew him.

Cut the purist crap. AC/DC moved on when Bon died and did pretty well for themselves. A band is a collective entity, not one person. If the remaining memebers agree to keep the name and continue on, it goes on. Duvall is more than a brilliant replacement, but if you see them live, he’s very humble about it. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it… go listen to Godsmack or something.

Mary, you are a moron. Since when does the name of the god damn band mean anything. I was under the impression that it was all about the music, not the name. The name of the band did not write the music, the musicians did. The name of the band could be called buttcrack for all I care, if its good, i’ll listen to it. Besides, Layne has been dead for seven years. Time to move on!
