The girls will be feeling the heat from 98 Degrees’ latest release, Revelation. The one thing I found interesting is how involved 98 Degrees is in the album’s writing. That has spelled disaster for the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. Not the case here.
The opener, “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)”, is a certain hit. There isn’t much of a drop off to “The Way You Want Me To”. I can’t stand the vocals though. It was cool when Kid Rock did it but now it’s so overdone. Let it go.
The first ballad, “Yesterday’s Letter”, will leave many hearts aflutter. If that doesn’t get you cooking, “My Everything” should do the trick. I never realized how much these guys owe to Boyz II Men.
98 Degrees is certainly on the rise. Revelation is a step up from the previous release and may propel them out of their boy band past and into a league now only occupied by Backstreet Boys and NSYNC.
