Beenie Man has a vocal style that would make Shabba Ranks jealous. His Jamaican Reggae styling and roots are well represented, as are hip-hop and Latin flavors. Beenie Man stretches his skills and arms to embrace the world as a whole. There are many guest appearances by artists from Steve Perry of The Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, to Mya, Wyclef Jean, Redman, Kelis, and Devonte.
“Ola” has a hook that won’t surface for years as it dives deep into your soul. As sweet as “Love Me Now” is when Wyclef steps to the mic, it’s Redman who ruins the track. His bridge destroys what was once a lovely song. Luckily there is a version without Redman.
Beenie Man takes on “Original Tune” solo, and it’s perhaps the hottest track on his album. There’s no one to hold him back as he rolls words off of his tongue. If you love Reggae or are looking for something new, Beenie Man’s Art And Life is not to be missed.
