PLAY: It’s easy enough to start a business. Get a phone and computer and you are set to role. It’s fun to hire employees and help customers. There are different types of business you can run from selling goods to real estate.

It’s too bad the real world wasn’t this easy. Open For Business makes life seem so simple. You buy something at wholesale and determine how much to sell it for and make money. There are a lot of good items to sell—maybe they wouldn’t be so good in the real world but they sure are interesting. Often the services are more interesting. Selling real estate is fun and you can run a hair salon. Another interesting service is owning a bakery. A few problems with the bakery are the limits placed upon when you can bake and the inability to eat any of your wares.

Open For Business breaks up the daily monotony of Sims 2. There are some odd glitches however and the biggest is the ability to open and close your business whenever. You can shut down your business for two weeks and open it and still be successful. That would never happen in real life.

GRAPHICS: If you’ve played the Sims you know what the game looks like. Not much has changed except for the additional items.

FRANKLY: You can tell who enjoys your products or services by star ratings. It’s a great help knowing when you are doing well. Open For Business is a great addition to a great game. The ability to create something from scratch and watch it flourish is excellent. The fact that you can create different businesses adds endless replay value.
