Is this the end of the Backstreet Boys? If you listen to Nick Carter’s entire record Now Or Never you’d think so. There seems to be a desperate freedom in this record and it’s hard to believe Carter would ever want to go back to being one of five.
Hot:
“Help Me” – It’s a rock track, sure it’s a pop ballad, but who says he can’t try to rock, a little.
“Miss America” – Sure its sappy, but it works.
“Is It Saturday Yet” – I was surprised too.
“My Confession” – Someone grew up listening to Prince.
Medium:
“Do I Have To Cry For You” – Someone knows what the girls want to hear.
“Girls In The U.S.A.” – Sounds like he’s auditioning for Def Leppard, Bon Jovi or Bryan Adams.
“Who Needs The World” – Hmmm… Who needs the world or is it really who needs the other guys? Listen and then answer the question.
Mild:
You’d be surprised to find the album is scaled down to keep out fluff. Surprised?
Although the likes of Godsmack have nothing to worry about, I’d say look out Aerosmith and other candy rock acts, Nick is coming and he has a few million girls behind him.
