Mariah Carey – Charmbracelet

Mariah Carey
Artist: Mariah Carey
Title: Charmbracelet
Label: Def Jam
Rating: 7.5/10

Mariah Carey has had a tough year or two. Her move from Sony to Virgin records was disastrous with a sub par album. Has her new move to Def Soul finally found Mariah at peace?

Glorious:
“Through The Rain” – You feel Mariah in this track and begin to understand why she sounds right all over again.
“Clown” – A scathing Mariah has never sounded so good. Finally she gets her payback.
“My Saving Grace” – Mariah finds peace and its never sounded so good.

Good:
“Boy” – Good until Cam’ron comes along.
“Bringin’ On The Heartbreak” – Not a terrible cover of the Def Leppard track.
“You Got Me” – Although the raps again could have been left out the track still kicks.
“The One” – If Mariah had left Jermaine Dupri out this would have been a hot track.

Bad:
“You Had Your Chance” – Could Jermaine Dupri be more annoying? He totally ruins this song.

Be reassured in the time when Divas find songs and sing them Mariah wrote or co-write each track. Finally we’ve got Mariah back and it feels great.
